TCS Comes to Indore: TCS Software Park

 TCS is opening another center in Indore for IT and BPO hub. The plan is to hire around 15,000 people once the facility is build. TCS is known as IT gaint which hires thousands of local engineers. The reason for TCS coming to indore were

                  Decks were cleared for Tata Consultancy Ltd to start its operations in Indore on Tuesday after the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status to the IT major was cleared at a Board of Approval (BoA) meeting held in New Delhi. The BoA accorded the status to TCS after the company had moved an application to start its unit on 100 acre land acquired by the state government for the firm near Super Corridor here. District collector Raghvendra Singh told DNA that the company would now be able to reap the tax benefits offered under the SEZ scheme. “We hope that the company will soon start operations,” he said. The arrival of TCS is expected to provide jobs to at least 10,000 local engineers – a condition set by the state government for providing land at subsidized rates to the IT giant. The project, expected to be operational by 2013, will employ more than 25,000 people directly and equal number indirectly. This project is the first and the biggest IT project of the state and would play a vital role in the development of Indore, Singh said.

TCS To Setup SEZ (Special Economic Zone) At Indore

The inter-ministerial Board of Approval for Special Economic Zones allowed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT software major to set up IT/ITeS SEZ (Special Economic Zone) at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, Videocon Realty & Infrastructure Ltd was also permitted to withdraw its proposal of 10 hectare – IT/ITeS SEZ at Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.

                        

The Board also agreed with the de-notification of the proposal of 11-hectare IT/ITeS SEZ of Larsen & Toubro Ltd’s at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Due to the imposition of Minimum Alternate Tax and Dividend Distribution Tax made investors lose interest in SEZs.

An agreement was made between TCS and the State Government that TCS should provide jobs to at least 10,000 local engineers for providing land at subsidized rates to the company. Planning has been made to make this project operational by 2013. Once it is done, it can provide employment to 25,000 people directly or indirectly.
